This adventure begins with Ginette, my grandmother, a visionary and passionate woman, who was never afraid to follow her own path. After the war, in the 1950s, she launched into fashion and created her own collections, carefully making dresses with floral patterns in her house in Cherbourg, Normandy.

In 1952, Ginette distinguished herself by opening a real concept store well ahead of its time. She offered her customers a unique space bringing together her clothing creations, jewelry, a hairdressing and beauty corner. A pioneer for her time, she understood that women aspired to find everything they needed on a daily basis in one place, while benefiting from a personalized experience. Her unique concept attracts a loyal clientele, enchanted by her approach that makes each woman a beautiful and unique person.

Ginette had the chance to create her own fashion shows to present her first creations. From the beginning, she designed her sketches and made dresses with floral patterns that she proudly wore on the catwalks.

These shows were an opportunity for her to reveal her talent as a designer and to highlight her unique pieces, combining audacity and elegance. Thanks to these events, she was able to introduce her world to a loyal and enthusiastic audience, and thus lay the foundations of what would become a real fashion adventure. These moments were a real achievement for Ginette, a woman who, from the beginning, knew how to combine passion, creativity and innovation.

  • On July 5, 2019, Ginette Garde was born with the launch of her first online collection. Behind this brand lies a family story that has been woven over generations. Manon Roussel, granddaughter of Mamie Ginette, grew up admiring her grandmother and her love of fashion. So she decided to pay tribute to her by creating her own brand, a nod to her first name and her heritage.

    Today, Ginette Garde is a brand in full expansion. Manon herself designs each model, infusing each creation with her unique universe, mixing timeless style and elegance. We are proud of our French identity and the manufacturing of our creations in France, with the exception of our sweaters and shoes, which are manufactured by our partners in Portugal. Our commitment is to offer chic, timeless and accessible ready-to-wear pieces, designed to adapt to the elegance of tomorrow.
